We are excited to announce a remarkable new collaboration between Theorem of Joy and the acclaimed Chinese vocalist Voision Xi. Building upon a composition by Thomas Julienne, Voision Xi has crafted a fresh and original interpretation, bringing the song to life in a beautiful and poetic new Chinese version. His profound sensitivity shines through, adding a unique blend of lightness and delicacy to the music. Special thanks go to Nina Xuan Xu for her skillful translation from French to Chinese, which has enriched this project even further.
The track “L’hiver” which serves as the title piece of the band’s second album, is a compelling exploration of themes of dormancy and rebirth. It captures the essence of winter’s stillness and the subsequent awakening of spring, symbolizing a journey of slow transformation and renewal. The string quartet “Les Enfants d’Icare” enhances the composition with a touch of Ravel-like sophistication, while Laurent Derache’s exquisite accordion solo adds a soaring, ethereal quality, lifting the music to new heights.
